Vitamins and expiry dates? - Health Questions

Question
Do vitamins actually expire? I have a bottle of vitamins that expired in 2004. If i take them, will I still get all the nutrients? Can someone give me some more information about this please?

Best Answer
They become less effective after expiration date, and some medications can actually harm you after expiration date. It's best not to take anything after the date.

Others
yes they do. They become less effective over time check with pharamacy for disposal.
you better not take it, may nutrients changed!!!!!!!!!!!!
The vitamins are fine.
I have wondered about this same thing.

My father is a pharmacist and has always told me that most drugs are okay for a few years after the date. I looked on the net just now and found this Harvard Medical School page: http://www.health.harvard.edu/fhg/update...
2004??? Wow time to drop these and what ever else you have collected in the last few years off at the pharmacy. Things have expiry dates for a reason, would you like to attempt to drink milk that expired in 2004?? Yucky!!! Toxic soup for lunch anyone???
