My 7-y.o. son has occasional vomiting associated with no other symptoms. Please Help!? - Health Questions

Question
My son has had this occasional vomiting x 3 episodes in the last 5 weeks. He gets sick one time and he is fine. No fevers, no diarreha, nothing. I cannot pin-point any coincidences that occur each time- he has ate different foods with each occurance. It does not happen soon after eating...generally, atleast 2-3 hours after meals. I took him to the doctor. He was started on a trial of Zantac almost 2 weeks ago, but he got sick again today. Doctor order abdominal x-ray. We are waiting on those results....but I am confused about why this keeps happening. He is not anxious, not sick (other than a common cold right now) and he is overall perfectly healthy in actions and appearance. Anyone experienced this with children? Thanks in advance! :)

Children do alot of funny things sometimes, there are so many reasons that he may be vomiting that until your doctor has read the x-ray report and ruled out other factors I would try not to worry. I know that this may be hard for you to do being a mother but getting wrong information could be worse for your worrying.
It could be something as simple as allergies...I know that when my 9yr old son gets nervous or anxious he has told me it feels like he has butterflies in his tummy and he has vomited from it. Try and relax until you have the info from the tests and then take it one day at a time. Source(s): Mommy of two boys and a nurse!

My daughter would vomit a couple times a week. but it was only when she went to bed. We found out she was allergic to her blanket.
If the x-ray shows nothing suggest that your son see a gastro specialist and also have a colonoscopy and maybe an endoscopy. Children often show these signs first with crohn's and colitis disease. And posibly may be a blockage in the intestine. I suffer with crohn's and that is how I started showing symptoms. Don't panic, just a suggestion.
Yes my daughter's daughter had this problem. The doctor was not able to fine. She had many test and they came back negative. She started to contribute it to allergies. She started trying and recording daily foods. Found out it was milk chocolate.
Tip if it is 2-3 hr. after eating it sounds like something is not digesting. It takes 2hr. for food to digest. I can also say nerves are tricky, don't rule them out
I've had no personal experience but my professional opinion is that the X-ray may reveal something conclusive and you should wait for your son's physician to get the preliminary report. I think that you should stop searching for "answers" because you may be given wrong and/or misleading information that might cause you unneccesary anxiety. I understand your concern and I know it's hard to sit and do nothing. The films generally take 1-3 days to be read by a Radiologist, depending on the current workload.
I'm a nurse.
