Question wehat is the difference between febrile and pyrexia? Best Answer two different terms for the same phenomenon.....fever. Source(s): RN Others Pyrexia is the technical name for fever. TO BE febrile is to have a high temperature. Pyrexia is a medical term for a high temperature. So no difference really. Febrile is like the adjective: A febrile disease for instance. Pyrexia is just the medical term for fever. (Like you know what the mdical term for sweating is? DIAPHORESIS) :-) Febrile = Feverish Pyrexia = Fever Therefore - pyrexia is a febrile condition http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/p... |
